Lauren has been leading fitness classes since high school and college, when she was a dance instructor and member of the College of Charleston Dance Team. She eventually realized her preference was group training. She soon became a fitness instructor at a YMCA in Boston after obtaining her certification through the American Council on Exercise.
At MINT, Lauren’s class brings new meaning to the word ‘intensity.’ She begins with the most challenging exercises, then follows with other options at a variety of intervals and repetitions. She loves teaching Power Playground, especially outdoors! In her words: “there are so many creative ways to move through the great outdoors (even if it’s a turf field in the city :P). I can really pump up the intensity with quick changes — from being on the ground to in the air. Work hard, play hard!”
When she’s not leading a class, you can find Lauren most mornings at 7am participating in Lindsay or Braegan’s Power Playground, either at Marie Reed or virtually.
Her favorite spot in DC for a healthy meal is Glen’s Garden Market. She also loves joining her sister’s outdoor Pure Barre classes. Recently, the pandemic has given her a lot of time to practice her newest endeavor — golf!

Meet October Member of the Month, Luke Popovich. Luke has been a valued MINT member for over 10 years. MINT has been a regular part of Luke’s routine visiting us for a workout three times a week. Though classes aren’t part of his workout routine he appreciates our friendly and knowledgable trainers like James and Rasean for helpful pointers and suggestions over the years.
Intense, inclusive, and inspirational. Those words describe Lindsay’s Power Playground classes and Lindsay herself.
