Caroline’s first fitness job was as an assistant high school rowing coach. She was looking for a side job outside of her day-to-day that could be a total “passion project.”. She enjoys leading group fitness classes because the positive environment allows people to find fun and joy in a healthy way. She loves being around people, working out, and as a middle child, she enjoys the opportunity to (finally) be the center of attention!
Her classes are the whole package – a workout, some fun, and moving meditation. Her teaching style is inviting and approachable. “Leave intimidation and snobbery for the make-believe land of Gossip Girl, (or better yet, Dallas). It has zero place in my classes,” she says. Her goal is to help you find your own specific and most effective workout, not anyone else’s. She also plays a lot of Tina Turner in her classes.
Caroline recently had a baby, her son Weston, in November. She taught group fitness and worked out up until the day before she had him! Navigating pregnancy and her postpartum body have taught her how to be more adaptable, creative, and patient with her workouts.
Outside of MINT, she recently finished graduate school for a second time and has previously worked in real estate development. She now does consultant work in that area around branding and marketing. Her favorite DC area runs are the loop around the Tidal Basin and Rock Creek Park. When she was pregnant, she went to acupuncture often and always got Little Sesame afterward – so delicious and full of vegetables! Fruitive has her favorite latte in DC.
On the fence about signing up for group fitness? She once read there are three things in life you’ll never regret: travel, education, and exercise. Go ahead and sign up!

Joaquin’s practice began in 2006 when he moved to DC and fell in love with the intention and structure of yoga. After attending yoga classes for almost a decade with many different teachers, he wanted to take his practice to the next level. He asked his mom to split the cost of teacher training with him as a combined Christmas and Birthday gift and ended up pursuing his 200-hour teacher training certification with CorePower in 2018. He is now a Yoga Alliance RYT500 instructor.
Since April 2020 we have provided leniency within several class policies considering the circumstances. As we ramp back up classes and participation continues to rise, we are reinstating the following, starting in February 2022:
Maddie’s classes are sassy, classy and a little bad-assy. She brings her incredibly high energy to every session to make working out the most enjoyable experience it can be. You will walk away with an extra boost of confidence and a smile on your face.
